What Protocol Is Known for RWA Tokenization?
#1
Hey everyone,

I've been diving deep into asset tokenization lately and wanted to open up a discussion on protocols specifically designed for RWA (Real-World Asset) tokenization. As institutions and startups look to bring real estate, equities, bonds, and commodities on-chain, choosing the right protocol becomes critical — especially when it comes to compliance, scalability, and cross-chain functionality.
So far, here are a few I’ve come across:

1. Standard Tokenization Protocol (STP)

[*]Designed to enable compliant tokenization of real-world assets
[*]Supports cross-chain interoperability
[*]Ideal for DAO-based governance of tokenized assets
[*]Focuses heavily on jurisdictional metadata and compliance logic

Use Case: Tokenized equity, asset-backed DAO governance

2. Centrifuge
[*]Focused on bringing off-chain assets like invoices and real estate into DeFi
[*]Bridges RWAs to protocols like MakerDAO and Aave
[*]Has a strong DeFi-native approach

Use Case: RWA-backed lending and collateralization

3. Polymesh

[*]A security token-specific blockchain built for regulated assets
[*]Offers identity management, compliance modules, and confidential transactions
Use Case: Regulated security token offerings (STOs)

4. RealT
[*]Built on Ethereum, RealT offers fractionalized real estate backed by US-based properties
[*]Strong emphasis on investor KYC and rental income distribution

Use Case: Fractional real estate ownership for retail investors

5. Tokeny

[*]Built on Polygon/Ethereum with strong institutional backing
[*]Focused on compliance modules (KYC, AML, investor rules)
[*]Works with private equity, bonds, and fund tokenization

Use Case: Institutional RWA tokenization across sectors

My Question to the Community:

[*]Which protocol have you used or explored for RWA tokenization?
[*]How important is cross-chain support, regulatory tooling, or DeFi integration in your decision?
[*]Are there any emerging protocols that are solving compliance more effectively than the big names?

Bonus: Honorable Mentions

[*]RWA.xyz – great for tracking projects but not a protocol itself
[*]Chainlink CCIP – helping RWAs move cross-chain with oracle-powered security
[*]OpenLaw/LegalDAO – more focused on legal structure of DAOs

Would love to hear your experiences, insights, or protocol recommendations!
Let’s make this thread a go-to resource for anyone building in the RWA space.
