How do you measure the success of a crypto press release — what actually counts?
#1
Hey Web3 fam — quick question that’s been bugging me as I plan out our launch strategy: how do you actually measure the success of a crypto press release?

Like, once you publish it and it gets picked up by a few outlets or shows up on PR Newswire or CoinTelegraph, then what? What are the real metrics that matter? Are you looking at traffic? Token buys? Wallet signups? Retweets? I feel like everyone says “you need a crypto press release,” but no one explains how to know if it actually did anything.

I’m trying to figure out what success even looks like for a crypto press release. Let’s say I drop one during our testnet or right before TGE — what should I be watching for? Is it realistic to expect investor attention or community growth from that alone? Or is it more of a long-term brand credibility move?

Also, does anyone here track specific KPIs from their press releases? Like click-through rate, bounce rate, number of mentions on social after it goes live, etc.? I’m wondering if I should be integrating UTM links or tracking tools to really see what’s working.

I’d especially love to hear from anyone who didn’t get results from a crypto press release — what do you think went wrong? Was it timing, the message, the outlet, or just that the audience wasn’t right?

This space moves fast, and I don’t want to waste time or budget if I can’t prove it moves the needle. So how do you all judge whether a crypto press release actually worked?

Appreciate any insights or real-world examples!
