I recently came across an old Microsoft Access database that I have not opened in several years. It contains historical records and information that I now need to review, but unfortunately, I cannot remember the password that was originally set on the database. I have checked my old notes, backups, and documents, but I have not been able to locate the correct password.
The database contains a large amount of useful information, so rebuilding it from scratch is not really an option. I also don't want to try random methods that involve modifying the original database because I want to keep the existing records and structure intact. I am mainly looking for a practical way to recover the password and regain access to the database.
Before trying any recovery method, I would ideally like to know whether it can handle different versions of Microsoft Access and whether it works with both MDB and ACCDB files. I also want something that does not require me to recreate tables or manually copy the information into a new database.
A few things I am particularly interested in are:
Support for password-protected MDB and ACCDB files
A simple recovery process without complicated technical steps
Compatibility with older Access database files
Ability to recover the password without rebuilding the database
Keeping the existing database records and structure available
While searching for possible solutions, I came across SysTools Access Password Recovery. It seems to be designed specifically for recovering passwords from Access database files, so I am considering giving it a try. However, I would prefer to hear from people who have actually used it before rather than relying only on the information available on the software page.
Has anyone here tried SysTools Access Password Recovery on an old MDB or ACCDB file? If yes, how straightforward was the recovery process? Did it work with an older Access database, and were you able to access the existing information afterward without any issues?
I would especially appreciate feedback from anyone who has dealt with a similar situation involving an archived or old Access database. I have the original file and a backup copy, so I am mainly looking for a reliable approach to regain access to the historical data without having to rebuild everything from scratch.
