Our 10th wedding anniversary is coming up and I want to get my wife something special that she'll actually use. She's been admiring leather jackets lately but hasn't bought one for herself.
Looking into best mens leather jacket styles but realizing I should probably focus on women's options instead! Though she does sometimes prefer men's cuts for the relaxed fit.
She's 5'6", petite build, works as a graphic designer so her style is creative but polished. Loves vintage-inspired pieces and quality materials over fast fashion trends.
Her current jacket collection is mostly cotton and wool, so leather would fill a gap in her wardrobe. She rides horses occasionally, so durability matters.
Budget is around $500 since this is a milestone anniversary. Want something special enough to commemorate the occasion but practical enough for regular wear.
Color preference seems to be brown or cognac based on her recent purchases. She gravitates toward warm tones over cool ones generally.
My concern is sizing and style preferences. Leather jackets are so personal, and I don't want to guess wrong on something this expensive. Should I make it a shopping trip together instead of a surprise?
Alternatively, considering a gift certificate so she can choose exactly what she wants. Less romantic but more practical.
Any husbands here with experience buying leather jackets for wives? What approach worked best for you?
