I have recently restarted my adventure in Mass Effect 3, which has made me look for additional information on the outfits for Commander Shepard. The one item that has drawn my attention is the N7 jacket. I have always found the N7 brand appealing and fitting Commander Shepard very well, and the fact that the N7 jacket looks far more casual than other armor pieces while preserving its distinctive N7 identity has only strengthened my liking for it.
However, I do not know how to obtain this item within Mass Effect 3. I have tried looking for information on this matter, but I have found contradictory information regarding the way of getting this particular piece of clothing whether it can be unlocked by completing the main storyline, acquired from a merchant or a mission, or is related to some DLC and/or special edition content. As there are so many options for different armor pieces in Mass Effect 3, I do not exclude a possibility of confusing this jacket with another Mass Effect outfit.
For anyone who has played Mass Effect 3 recently, do you remember how you originally unlocked or obtained the N7 jacket? Is it available during a normal playthrough, or do you need to complete a specific mission before it becomes available? I'm also wondering if the jacket can be accessed fairly early in the game or if you have to progress quite far into the story before you can use it. If it is connected to DLC, I'd also appreciate knowing which DLC includes it and whether it is available in the Legendary Edition as well.
Another thing I'm curious about is whether the outfit has any practical benefits or if it's mainly a cosmetic option. I usually prefer outfits that look good while still fitting the character and the setting, and the N7 design has always been one of my favorites. The simple colors and recognizable N7 logo make it feel like something Shepard could realistically wear when not wearing full combat armor.
However, it would also be interesting to learn about the opinions of other gamers on the Mass Effect N7 jacket and other outfits provided for Shepard in Mass Effect 3. Personally, I find the N7 jacket to be quite stylish and cool. However, some players prefer the other kinds of armor provided in the game. For example, some people prefer the N7 armor which can be considered more serious and suitable for the action in the game, while others prefer a less formal outfit, however, the one which demonstrates the connection of Shepard with the N7.
