Hey everyone, I'm hoping someone here has been through something similar and can offer some advice. A few days ago, my iPhone basically bricked after I updated to the latest iOS version. Everything seemed fine at first, but then it froze up and wouldn’t respond. I tried a hard reset, connected it to my computer, even ran iTunes recovery mode, but nothing really worked the way I expected. Eventually, I gave in and did a factory reset — which, in hindsight, was probably a huge mistake.
Now everything’s gone. My messages, photos, videos, notes, contacts — years' worth of stuff just vanished. I didn’t have iCloud backup turned on (I know, I know), and I didn’t back it up to my computer either. I feel so dumb for not doing that regularly, but here we are.
I’ve been digging around for iPhone data recovery options and came across this website: https://www.gbyte.com/iphone-data-recovery/. It looks promising, but I’ve never used a service like this before and I’m a little skeptical. I don’t want to waste time or money on something that won’t actually work.
Has anyone here used Gbyte or any other iPhone data recovery service and actually gotten their data back? I’d really appreciate hearing about any personal experiences, good or bad. Especially if you were in a similar situation — no backup, phone reset, and everything wiped. Just trying to figure out if there's still a chance or if I should start accepting the loss.
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies. This has been a rough week.
