What actually makes a high-converting marketing agency website in today's landscape?
#1
The way a billion online service providers can have a presence and website so drastically off the mark for themselves is amazing. Having spent a good deal of time trying to understand how the right marketing agency website can really be effective as well as the standard corporate website to build has been very different.
The problem is that they always try to explain everything to everybody. Visitors arrive to the homepage and are overwhelmed by jargon, stock photography of smiling hands and generalizations about "efficiencies" and "new opportunities." If you can't tell who they are selling to and how you're going to help them in five seconds or less, the customer has left the building.
Your agency website needs to be easy to find, easy to understand. Your headline needs to be easy to read. The bottom line: you need to clearly and quickly identify the pain points that your dream clients are suffering from, whether it's a standstill with their lead flow, their rankings, or their ad ROAS.
It's not just the words, it's the visuals too. Look good. Well, it should look beautiful and purposeful because your future clients will expect that your website is a representation of how you'll be treating their project. A clear design, easy navigation, and professional fonts are essential.
Plus, you need to consider how users move from being a passive reader to an active dialogue. So many websites hide their call-to-action buttons in the footer of a long page that nobody reaches. Reduce friction and make it easy for high-intent prospects to take their next step by incorporating frictionless touchpoints, such as a short discovery quiz, a transparent pricing calculator or a simple consultation booking form.
Don't hide your case studies in a sub page - show your actual results out in the open. Demonstrate actual data, client testimonials, and an honest analysis of how you solved big challenges for your clients, and people will convert when they see you've been down the same road as them. What's been your experience when browsing agency websites lately? Have you seen any recent design trends that actually work?
