I have maintained all my personal and work contacts in an Excel file for several years, and the spreadsheet has gradually grown to include hundreds of contacts. It contains details such as first and last names, mobile numbers, office numbers, email addresses, company names, job titles, and sometimes complete addresses. Recently, I switched from my old phone to an iPhone, and now I want to move all these contacts into the iPhone Contacts app.
The main problem is that my contacts are currently stored in Excel format, and I cannot simply import the XLS or XLSX file directly into the iPhone Contacts app. From what I have researched, I need to convert the Excel contact list into a compatible format such as vCard or VCF before importing it. I could try converting the contacts manually, but with so many records, creating individual vCard files one by one would take a lot of time and could also result in errors or missing information.
I am therefore looking for a reliable Excel to vCard converter that can automate the entire process. My biggest concern is preserving the original contact information during conversion. For example, I don't want phone numbers to be misplaced, email addresses to disappear, or names and company details to appear under the wrong fields after importing the VCF file into my iPhone. It would also be helpful if the software could handle a large number of contacts at once instead of requiring me to process them individually.
While searching for solutions, I came across SysTools Excel to vCard Converter. It seems to be designed specifically for converting Excel or CSV contact files into vCard format, but I have not personally used it yet. Has anyone here tried SysTools Excel to vCard Converter for moving Excel contacts to an iPhone? I would particularly like to know whether it preserves different contact fields properly and whether the resulting VCF file can be imported into the iPhone Contacts app without much manual correction.
If you have used this tool for a similar Excel-to-iPhone contact migration, I would appreciate hearing about your experience, especially with large contact lists and multiple contact fields.
