I've been learning more about SEO recently and I'm interested in hearing from people with real-world experience.
I work in medical billing, and while my profession is different from digital marketing, I've become increasingly interested in how SEO helps businesses improve their online visibility and attract the right audience. In my field, I already see how important online presence is, especially for healthcare providers, clinics, and billing services that rely on patients or clients finding them through search engines. Even though I am not directly working in SEO, I am trying to understand how search engines decide which websites appear at the top and what strategies actually make a long-term difference rather than just short-term ranking boosts.
What I find most interesting is how SEO seems to be a combination of technical structure, content quality, and user behavior. For example, I’ve read that even if a website has great content, it may not rank well if the technical SEO is weak or if the site is slow or not mobile-friendly. On the other hand, some websites with average content still perform well because they have strong backlinks or good domain authority. This balance is something I am trying to understand better.

I’m also curious about how people stay updated in this field. Do you follow specific blogs, communities, or experiment directly with your own websites to test what works? Since SEO is so dynamic, I imagine hands-on experience plays a huge role in understanding what actually works in practice versus theory.
