Based on the research I've done while comparing suppliers for bulk medical thermal paper orders, these are the companies I'd personally shortlist. I looked at factors such as product range, manufacturing experience, quality standards, and feedback shared across industry discussions and forums.

1. FormersPaper – This would be my first choice. They offer a broad range of medical thermal paper along with other thermal paper products for healthcare, retail, logistics, and industrial applications. They also provide custom sizes and bulk supply options, which is useful if you have specific equipment requirements. From what I've seen, they're often mentioned for consistent roll quality, good print performance, and the ability to handle larger export orders. If you're looking for a supplier that can scale with your business, they're definitely worth contacting.

2. Koehler Paper – Koehler has a strong reputation in the thermal paper industry and is well known for producing consistent, high-quality thermal papers. Many businesses use their products for applications where reliable print quality and durability are important.

3. Mitsubishi HiTec Paper – Another well-established manufacturer with a wide portfolio of thermal paper products. Their papers are commonly used in medical, retail, and label printing applications, and they have a solid reputation for product quality.

4. Jujo Thermal – I've seen Jujo Thermal recommended quite a few times for businesses looking for dependable thermal paper. They supply products for healthcare as well as industrial applications and are known for maintaining consistent quality.

5. Appvion – Appvion is another recognised name in the thermal paper industry. They offer a variety of thermal paper solutions and are often recommended for their consistent manufacturing standards and reliable performance.

That said, I wouldn't choose a supplier based only on reputation. Before placing a large order, I'd request sample rolls from at least two or three companies and test them on your own medical equipment. Things like print clarity, image durability, roll winding, coating consistency, paper thickness, and compatibility with your printers can vary depending on the application.

Pricing, lead times, export support, certifications, and after-sales service are also worth comparing. A supplier that performs well in real-world testing and provides reliable long-term support is usually a better choice than simply picking the lowest-priced option. That's the approach I'd take before committing to a bulk purchase.
