I've noticed that the way I shop for home items has changed quite a bit over the last few years. A while back, if I needed something for the house, I'd usually wait until the weekend and visit a few local stores. Most of the time I'd end up buying whatever was available nearby, even if it wasn't exactly what I had in mind.
These days it's completely different. Whenever I need something, whether it's a storage solution, kitchen accessory, decorative item, organizer, lighting piece, or even a simple household gadget, the first thing I do is open a browser and start looking online. The amount of choice available now is honestly incredible compared to what we had even ten years ago.
One thing I've realized is that I rarely search for a specific product anymore. Instead, I usually start with a problem. Maybe my entryway feels cluttered. Maybe my desk needs better organization. Maybe there's an empty shelf that looks unfinished. Once I identify the issue, I start browsing for ideas, and that's often when I discover products I wouldn't have thought about otherwise.
Recently I was doing exactly that and ended up browsing through this site:

What caught my attention wasn't any single product but the variety of categories available in one place. I found myself jumping from home organization items to kitchen accessories, then looking at decorative pieces, storage solutions, and practical everyday products. It's one of those websites where you can easily spend much longer than intended because every category leads to another interesting find.
I think that's one of the biggest differences between online shopping and traditional retail. In a physical store you're limited by shelf space and inventory. Online stores can offer a much wider selection, which makes it easier to find items that match your personal style or solve a very specific need.
At the same time, having so many options can make decisions harder. I've occasionally spent more time comparing products than actually using the thing once it arrives. Sometimes I'll have several tabs open, reading reviews, checking dimensions, comparing materials, and trying to decide whether a particular item is genuinely useful or just something that looks appealing in a photo.
Another interesting change is how much influence social media and interior design content have on purchasing decisions. A lot of the products I've bought recently weren't things I actively searched for. I saw them in someone's home office setup, kitchen renovation, or living room tour and thought, "That would actually solve a problem in my own space."
Of course, not every purchase turns out to be a great one. We've probably all bought something that seemed like a brilliant idea online but ended up sitting unused in a drawer. On the other hand, some of the smallest and least expensive purchases end up being the most useful things in the house.
I'm curious how other people approach shopping for home products these days.
Do you still prefer visiting physical stores so you can see items in person before buying, or have you mostly switched to online shopping? And when you're looking for things for your home, do you usually search for a specific product, or do you browse until you find something that inspires an idea?
