Full Version: Why is Gen Z suddenly obsessed with astrology?

Over the past year or two, I’ve noticed a clear shift—Gen Z isn’t just casually enjoying astrology memes anymore, they’re actually taking it seriously.
From Instagram reels to late-night conversations, astrology has become a part of how many young people are trying to understand their lives. And I’m not just talking about checking sun signs—people are now diving into birth charts, planetary transits, and even consulting professional astrologers for real-life decisions.

What’s driving this sudden interest?
For starters, there’s a lot more uncertainty today. Careers feel unstable, relationships are more complex, and long-term plans aren’t as predictable as they used to be. In that kind of environment, it makes sense that people look for something that offers clarity or at least a sense of direction.

Another factor could be accessibility. Astrology content today is everywhere—short videos, apps, threads—making it easier than ever to explore. Unlike older generations, Gen Z is more open to mixing logic with intuition. They don’t necessarily “blindly believe,” but they’re curious enough to explore.
Also, not everyone has easy access to therapy or mentorship. For some, astrology becomes a tool for reflection. It gives language to emotions and patterns they might not fully understand yet.

What’s interesting is that even in a fast-paced, tech-driven city like Bangalore, this trend is growing rapidly. People are actively searching for the best astrologer in Bangalore, almost the same way they’d look for a career coach or counselor.
I’ve even heard names like Pandit MB Joshi come up frequently in discussions, especially among younger crowds, which shows how mainstream this has become.

So now I’m genuinely curious—

Is astrology just a phase Gen Z is going through, influenced by social media and trends?
Or is it actually becoming a meaningful tool for self-discovery and decision-making in today’s unpredictable world?
Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this.
