Hello everyone,
I am trying to gain a clear understanding of Post Compliance for Plastic Waste Management under the EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) framework in India. While I understand that businesses, Producers, Importers, and Brand Owners (PIBOs), as well as Plastic Waste Processors (PWPs), need to obtain authorization first, I am more curious about what happens after approval is granted.
From what I have learned so far, post compliance is a continuous process that ensures organizations remain aligned with the Plastic Waste Management Rules issued by CPCB and SPCB. It is not just about getting authorization but about maintaining compliance throughout the business operations.
Some of the key responsibilities that I believe fall under post compliance include:
However, I would really like to understand the practical side of this process. In real business operations, how strict is the enforcement of these requirements? Are companies regularly audited or inspected for compliance?
I also want to know:
It would be great if professionals working in this field or people with real experience could share their insights. Understanding the ground reality of epr post compliance would really help businesses like ours plan better and avoid future legal or environmental issues.
Looking forward to your valuable suggestions and practical guidance.
Thank you in advance!

Some of the key responsibilities that I believe fall under post compliance include:
- Maintaining proper records of plastic waste collection, recycling, and disposal
- Ensuring that EPR targets are fulfilled within the specified timeline
- Submission of periodic and annual compliance reports to CPCB/SPCB
- Proper documentation of waste transactions and recycling certificates
- Coordination with authorized recyclers and waste management partners
- Regular monitoring of plastic usage and reduction initiatives
However, I would really like to understand the practical side of this process. In real business operations, how strict is the enforcement of these requirements? Are companies regularly audited or inspected for compliance?
I also want to know:
- What are the most common challenges faced by companies in maintaining post compliance?
- What happens if a business fails to meet its EPR targets on time?
- Are there any penalties or legal actions for non-compliance?
- How often are reports required to be submitted in real practice?
- What systems or tools are commonly used for tracking compliance data?
It would be great if professionals working in this field or people with real experience could share their insights. Understanding the ground reality of epr post compliance would really help businesses like ours plan better and avoid future legal or environmental issues.
Looking forward to your valuable suggestions and practical guidance.
Thank you in advance!
