Hello everyone,
We are currently preparing for a SharePoint Tenant-to-Tenant (T2T) migration project within our Microsoft 365 environment due to a merger and internal restructuring. The goal is to migrate all SharePoint Online data from our source tenant to a new tenant while ensuring security, data integrity, and minimal business disruption.
After conducting an internal assessment, we realized that SharePoint migration between tenants is far more complex than simply copying files. It involves site architecture, permissions, metadata, user identity mapping, compliance requirements, and domain transitions.
Our primary concerns include:
• Preserving SharePoint Online site collections, hub sites, and subsites
• Migrating document libraries with full folder hierarchy intact
• Retaining metadata, custom columns, and version history
• Maintaining existing permissions and access controls
• Preventing broken sharing links (internal & external)
• Aligning user identities correctly between tenants
• Ensuring minimal or near-zero downtime during migration
We initially explored native Microsoft migration capabilities, but they seem limited for handling complex enterprise environments — especially when it comes to permission preservation and large-scale data movement.
Recently, we came across CloudBik’s Tenant-to-Tenant migration services, which claim to provide end-to-end SharePoint migration support including assessment, identity mapping, secure data transfer, incremental migration strategy, and post-migration validation. Their approach appears structured and enterprise-focused, particularly for organizations dealing with mergers, acquisitions, or tenant consolidation.
From what we understand, CloudBik emphasizes:
• Secure encrypted data transfer
• Preservation of permissions and metadata
• Incremental migration to reduce downtime
• Detailed pre-migration assessment
• Post-migration validation and reporting
• Support for large-scale enterprise environments
Before finalizing our strategy, we would really appreciate feedback from this community:
Looking forward to your expert advice, recommendations, and real-world experiences.
Thank you in advance for your support!

Before finalizing our strategy, we would really appreciate feedback from this community:
- Has anyone here completed a SharePoint T2T migration recently?
- Are third-party migration platforms significantly better than native tools?
- Has anyone worked specifically with CloudBik for Microsoft 365 migrations?
- What common pitfalls should we avoid during planning and execution?
- How do you ensure proper permission mapping and domain transition without user disruption?
Looking forward to your expert advice, recommendations, and real-world experiences.
