Chardham Yatra is one of the holiest pilgrimage tours in India. This journey takes place in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand and involves a visit to four holy temples. These temples are situated in the far-off regions of the mountains and are surrounded by snow-capped mountains, rivers, and forests. Yamunotri Dham

To reach the temple, one has to come by road to Janki Chatti and then walk for 6 kilometers. Ponies and palanquins are also available for those who cannot walk.
The environment around Yamunotri is peaceful and clean. The hot water springs present near the temple are utilized by devotees to prepare rice. The climate in this region is always cold. Even in summer, one has to wear warm clothes.
Gangotri Dham
The Gangotri town has basic hotels, shops, and medical facilities. The region is famous for its clean environment and calm surroundings. Many devotees halt here for a night before proceeding further on the yatra.
The Gangotri Temple is the second dham and is devoted to Goddess Ganga. It is also known as the place where Goddess Ganga has descended on earth. The temple is situated on the shores of the Bhagirathi River and is easily accessible by road.
Kedarnath Dham
The Kedarnath Temple is one of the most revered temples of Lord Shiva. It is also one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The temple stands at a very high point and is usually snow-covered throughout the year.
To go to Kedarnath, one has to trek for 16 kilometers from Gaurikund. Helicopter services are also available for the elderly and the ill. Badrinath Dham
Badrinath Temple is the last destination of the Chardham Yatra. The temple is devoted to Lord Vishnu. It is situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River.
Badrinath has proper facilities for staying, health care, and eating. The Tapt Kund hot water spring, situated near the temple, is utilized by devotees before performing darshan. Many people find Badrinath more convenient than other dhams because of better infrastructure.
