I want to share my experience with CertaPet.com because I wish I had seen more honest discussions before using their service. In 2026, when ESA letters are more closely reviewed by landlords and housing providers, choosing the wrong service can create serious problems. Unfortunately, CertaPet turned out to be a poor choice for me.

At first, CertaPet looks very professional. The website is polished and calming, and it strongly emphasizes licensed providers and legal compliance. That presentation gave me confidence. However, once I went through the process, it felt rushed and transactional rather than like a genuine mental health evaluation. The consultation was brief and surface level, and the ESA letter I received looked generic and templated. It did not feel personalized or carefully prepared, which immediately made me question whether it would actually hold up if reviewed.

Customer support was another major issue. Before payment, communication was fast and reassuring. After payment, responses became slow, vague, and often unhelpful. When I asked specific questions about landlord verification, state compliance, or what to do if the letter was challenged, I did not receive clear answers. It felt like there was no real accountability once the document was delivered.

What concerns me most is how risky this feels in 2026. Many landlords are now familiar with online ESA letter services, and letters that appear generic or rushed are more likely to be questioned or rejected. If that happens, CertaPet does not seem to offer meaningful support or follow up, despite the confidence implied by their marketing.

I have also noticed that while there are many highly positive reviews online, detailed negative experiences like mine are harder to find and often get buried. That made it harder to get a balanced picture before ordering.

Based on my experience, CertaPet.com prioritizes speed and marketing over reliability and long term support. If your housing situation or emotional well being truly depends on having a valid ESA letter, this is not a risk I would recommend taking.

My advice to others is to slow down, research carefully, and consider working directly with a licensed mental health professional who provides real ongoing care. I regret using CertaPet and would not trust them again.
