I rarely post reviews, but my experience with CertaPet.com was bad enough that I feel obligated to warn others before they make the same mistake I did. In short: this service is overpriced, confusing, and far riskier than their polished website makes it seem.
CertaPet markets itself as a “trusted” and “legitimate” ESA letter provider, but once you pay, the experience quickly falls apart. The process is not clear, not transparent, and definitely not reassuring. You’re asked to fill out a long form, pay a high fee upfront, and then… wait. No clear timeline, no detailed explanation, and no real human guidance.
Communication is one of their biggest failures. Before payment, replies are fast and friendly. After payment, support becomes slow, vague, and repetitive. Every question I asked about therapist credentials, legal validity, or what happens if the letter is rejected was met with copy-paste responses that avoided answering anything directly. It felt like I was talking to a script, not a professional service.
The ESA letter itself was extremely underwhelming. For the price they charge, I expected something carefully prepared and legally solid. Instead, it looked generic and rushed, like a template filled in with my name. It didn’t inspire confidence—and when you’re dealing with housing rights, confidence matters.
What’s worse is the complete lack of accountability. If your landlord questions the letter or asks for clarification, CertaPet offers no meaningful backup. There’s no proactive follow-up, no real support, and no guarantee that the document will actually hold up when challenged. Once they deliver the file, you’re basically on your own.
The entire experience feels designed to take payment first and deal with problems later—if at all. Their marketing promises peace of mind, but what you actually get is stress, uncertainty, and a document you’re not even sure you can safely use.
In my opinion, CertaPet.com is not worth the risk in 2026. If you need a legitimate ESA letter that truly protects you, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere and doing much deeper research than I did.
If anyone else here has dealt with CertaPet, I’d really like to know—because my experience was anything but reassuring.
