I've been seeing a ton of buzz lately around RWA tokenization — and for good reason. According to several reports (including by Boston Consulting Group and the World Economic Forum), the tokenized RWA market could hit $10–16 trillion by 2030. That's huge.
So, I wanted to start a thread to unpack the current state of the RWA tokenization market, what’s real, what’s hype, and where it might be headed.
What is RWA Tokenization?
It’s the process of turning physical or traditional financial assets — like real estate, gold, bonds, equities, invoices, or fine art — into digital tokens on a blockchain. These tokens represent ownership, and in many cases, they can be traded, used as collateral, or yield-bearing.
Why Is the Market Heating Up?
[*]Major players entering the space: BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, JPMorgan, and others are piloting tokenized funds and assets.
[*]Rise of on-chain RWAs: Projects like Centrifuge, Maple, Goldfinch, and Ondo Finance are bringing real-world yields to DeFi.
[*]Stable income: Tokenized treasuries and private credit are offering 4–10%+ APY — far more attractive than many crypto-native products.
[*]Regulatory clarity improving: Jurisdictions like Singapore, Switzerland, and UAE are becoming friendly to compliant tokenization.
