I’ll be traveling through Hong Kong International Airport soon and I have an overnight layover before my connecting flight the next morning. I’m not too keen on trying to sleep in the terminal or spending the whole night in a lounge, so I’m considering booking one of the closest hotels in Hong Kong airport to make things easier. Ideally, I’d like somewhere with a reliable shuttle service, decent facilities, and a comfortable room where I can actually rest.
From my research, the Regal Airport Hotel seems to be the most convenient option since it’s directly connected to the terminal. That would save a lot of hassle with luggage, and I’ve read that it has several restaurants, a spa, and even a pool, which sounds nice even if I won’t have much time to use them. Another option I came across is the Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel, which offers a free shuttle to the airport, spacious rooms, a fitness center, and multiple dining choices. It looks like a good fit, especially for business travelers who might also need meeting spaces.
I also found the Novotel Citygate Hong Kong, which is just a short drive from the airport. They provide complimentary shuttle service as well, and being connected to the Citygate Outlet Mall is definitely a bonus — I wouldn’t mind squeezing in a little shopping during my layover. The hotel also has a pool and family-friendly facilities, which could be great for those traveling with kids.
What I’m still trying to figure out is whether these hotels are really worth it for a short overnight stay. My main priorities are comfort, convenience, and a stress-free transfer to and from the airport. Has anyone here stayed in any of these hotels? How was the shuttle service — punctual and easy to use? Were the rooms quiet enough to get some proper rest, and did the facilities live up to expectations?
