I’m working with an early-stage blockchain startup, and we’re at that point where we need to start building visibility before raising funds. One thing that keeps coming up in strategy calls is blockchain press release distribution — basically using press releases to get attention from both media and potential investors.
But here’s what I’m unsure about: does this actually work anymore? Like, will investors even pay attention to a press release unless it’s announcing a funding round or a huge partnership? Or can a well-crafted release about your vision, roadmap, or early traction still make an impact?
I get that press releases aren’t a silver bullet. But in a space where credibility is everything, especially for new blockchain projects, maybe it’s still worth it. The question is — how do you do blockchain press release distribution right so it actually gets seen by the right people?
Do you just blast it out on every distribution network (Web3NewsWire, Chainwire etc.) and hope for the best? Or is it smarter to target smaller, niche outlets that investors in the space actually read? Also — how important is timing? Should we put something out before pitching, or wait until we have a soft launch?
If anyone here has raised funds and used PR or press releases as part of your strategy, I’d love to hear how you approached it. What kind of results did you see? Did you notice any uptick in investor inquiries, pitch replies, or general attention?
Trying to separate signal from noise here — and make sure the effort goes toward something that brings real value, not just SEO.
