Full Version: Is Extreme Stranger Aggression Normal for This Breed?

Hey folks,

Need some help here. My 7-month-old female Caucasian Shepherd has started going full-on aggressive when strangers come near. I’m talking deep growling, barking, pulling on the leash—like she’s ready to fight. It’s only with people she doesn’t know. With family and friends she’s been introduced to, she’s calm and affectionate.

I know they’re supposed to be natural guardians, but I didn’t expect it to start this early or come on so strong. We’re doing basic obedience and she’s doing fine otherwise, but the stranger thing is becoming a real concern. Not sure if this is something I can work through on my own or if I should get a behaviorist involved now.

Has anyone had their pup act like this at that age and seen it improve? I’m open to advice—training tips, socialization tricks, anything.

I also came across this listing while searching for local help: https://www.brownbook.net/business/53993...-and-care/

Would appreciate hearing from others who’ve raised this breed, especially females. She’s a great dog, just want to get ahead of this before it becomes a bigger issue. Thanks!
