Hey everyone!
I’ve been really into historical novels lately and wanted to see if anyone else shares this passion. I’ve read a few books set in different eras, and I’m looking for more recommendations. I find that historical novels are not only entertaining but also give me a deeper understanding of different times and cultures.
So far, I’ve read a couple of books set in the Roman Empire and Ancient Greece, and I enjoyed them a lot. There’s something fascinating about how these novels mix real historical events with fictional characters. It’s like stepping back in time and experiencing history firsthand through the eyes of characters who might have actually lived during that period.
I’m particularly interested in novels set in the Middle Ages. I love the idea of exploring medieval societies, their customs, and the overall atmosphere of the time. From knights and castles to the everyday lives of ordinary people, it’s all so intriguing. I’m looking for books that not only provide a good story but also give a sense of authenticity and detail about the period.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I’m open to both classic and contemporary novels. Also, if there are any series or authors that stand out, I’d love to hear about those too. I’m hoping to find some hidden gems that I might not have come across yet.

I’m always on the lookout for new historical novels, so feel free to share any more suggestions you might have!
Looking forward to your recommendations and thoughts!
Hi, I love historical novels too. If we talk about the Middle Ages, I can recommend to pay attention to this list: https://booksrun.com/blog/10-top-medieva...ion-reads/ . It collects very interesting books that not only describe historical events, but also immerse in the atmosphere of that time. Personally, I really liked “The Name of the Rose” by Umberto Eco - the book is interesting not only as a detective, but also as a historical work that conveys the spirit of the era
I recommend the book “The Pillars of the Earth” by Ken Follett. If you haven't read it, definitely pick it up. This book reveals the era perfectly, and is read in one breath
