IELTS Writing Task 1 is the first part of the IELTS Academic writing test. In this task, you are required to describe, summarize, or explain visual data presented in the form of charts, graphs, tables, maps, or process diagrams. You are expected to write at least 150 words and complete the task within 20 minutes, as Task 2 carries more weight.
The primary goal of IELTS Writing Task 1 is to assess how well you can identify and describe the main features of the given data, make relevant comparisons, and present the information in a clear, coherent, and objective manner. Personal opinions or assumptions should be avoided completely, as this task is based on factual information only.
