What’s the best way to manage time in IELTS and TOEFL exams?
#1
Time management is one of the most critical factors in achieving success on both the IELTS and the TOEFL, and it often separates average performances from truly outstanding ones.

For IELTS candidates, an IELTS band score calculator is a very useful tool because it helps students understand how their performance in each section—Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking—translates into an overall band score. When students practice under real exam conditions and then use the band score calculator, they quickly see how even small mistakes in timing can lower their scores, particularly in Reading and Writing, where rushing or leaving questions unanswered can cost valuable marks.

For the TOEFL, mastering the TOEFL exam pattern is equally essential, since the test is tightly structured with limited minutes allocated to each section. The Speaking tasks, for example, allow only a short time to prepare and deliver responses, while the Writing section demands well-organized essays under strict deadlines.

Many students struggle not because of lack of knowledge, but because they mismanage their time and run out before completing responses. As a tutor, I emphasize pacing strategies such as setting internal time checkpoints, practicing with mock tests under timed conditions, and learning to move on from difficult questions without getting stuck.

With the right preparation, students can approach the IELTS and TOEFL confidently, knowing that their timing strategies will help them maximize their performance and score to their fullest potential.
