Hello there! Just wanted to share our experience at the United Terminal Logan and it was actually a nice surprise! My family and I were headed, and it was all so easy from checking in to boarding. The people working at the United counters were friendly and understanding, particularly with our two kids who kept asking them a bunch of questions. The airport was clean, well-lit, and there was ample seating and a variety of eating choices. Security was a breeze to get through, and there even were kid-friendly treats available in front of our gate. It was orderly and peaceful—great for a family vacation. We'd fly from here again for sure!
First Impressions: Easy Arrival and Helpful Staff
We reached Logan International Airport Terminal, where United Airlines is based, for an early morning flight to Denver. With four of us traveling (my partner, me, and our two children aged 8 and 4), reaching the airport on time without any hassle is always our number one challenge. Fortunately, United's signs were as clear as daylight. Terminal has two sides (North and South), and United is located in the B North concourse, which is convenient and well-structured. As soon as we drove up, there were enough carts for us to grab (yes, a lifesaver when you've got a stroller, backpacks, and carry-ons along). The curbside United agents were friendly and even asked to assist in tagging our bags before we entered. That little act went a long way.
Check-In: Smooth and Family-Friendly
Internationally, the United check-in lounge was large and sleek. We had checked in online previously but had to hand in our cases. The tag-your-own kiosks were extremely intuitive, even for a touch-phobe like myself. Within moments, our bags were tagged and we were at the front for bag drop. This is where it really became human: the United staff saw we had small children with us and signaled us over to a special line that progressed a bit more quickly. They not only assisted us with our luggage but bantered with the children and made them feel part of the process. It wasn't hurried or impersonal—it was as if we were conversing with actual individuals who cared. That’s rare at airports these days, honestly.
Security: Surprisingly Painless
We’ve had our fair share of TSA nightmares, but this time it went shockingly well. The security area in United’s section of Terminal is modern and organized, with clear signage and separate lines for families and TSA PreCheck. The TSA staff were kind and didn’t give us a hard time about the stroller or juice box that somehow slipped into our carry-on. We got through security in less than 15 minutes—such an improvement when flying with children who can't wait for long security lines.
Terminal Comfort: Bright, Clean, and Well-Designed
Once we cleared security, we found ourselves in one of the prettier terminals we've passed through. The United Terminal at Logan is truly one of the nicest and well-lit terminals I've traveled through in the U.S. The high ceiling, natural lighting, and updated décor created a relaxed, open atmosphere. There were many seats, power outlets at every other row, and even comfortable lounge-like seating close to the windows for those who desired a bit more privacy or comfort. We settled in close to our gate and took a moment to catch our breath before wandering around some.
Dining and Snacks: Something for Everyone
When you're traveling with family, snacks are not optional. Fortunately, Terminal has some decent food. We picked up a quick breakfast at Green Bean Café, which offered fresh bagels, coffee, and some healthy kid snacks. There's also a B.GOOD store nearby for salads and smoothies, and a Starbucks if you need a caffeine fix (which, honestly, we did). What struck me the most was how clean everything was, and how attentive the staff were even in the dining areas. They were wiping the tables down with speed and being fastidious with cleanliness—which made me a bit more at ease with the kids handling everything.
Boarding Process: Organized and On Time
Our boarding gate had plenty of seating and good announcements. The gate agents were friendly, concise, and even took time to call for families to pre-board. That allowed us time to get our bags stowed and find overhead space before the main crowd arrived. The experience went smoothly, and the boarding doors shut bang on schedule. The flight itself? That's a review for another time—but trust me, it took off like a shot.
Final Thoughts:
Summing up our experience at the Logan Airport United Terminal, I can safely say it's one of the better terminals we've traveled through as a family. From the second we got there, everything was obviously explained, spotless, and neat. The check-in was efficient, the security line moved quickly, and the gate area seemed roomy and peaceful. There were ample seating spaces, charging stations, and dining options to satisfy both adults and children. Although a small play space would have made it ideal for younger kids, the open design still provided our children with enough space to stretch out and unwind. The employees at each point of contact—check-in, security, or the gate—were friendly and welcoming, which made us feel genuinely cared for, not merely processed through. All in all, United Terminal delivered a stress-free, welcoming experience that we’d happily repeat on our next trip. Thumbs up from the whole family!
