I have a large folder of Outlook MSG files that were saved from different email conversations over time. Many of these emails include important attachments like PDF files, Word documents, Excel sheets, images, and some other work-related files. Now I need to move these MSG emails into an email client that supports EML format, but doing this one by one is taking too much time.
The main problem is that MSG files are not easy to open in every email client. They usually work with Microsoft Outlook, but I need these emails in EML format so they can be opened in clients like Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail, Apple Mail, or other EML-supported applications. I tried checking a few files manually, but when there are hundreds or thousands of MSG files, manual conversion is not practical.
My biggest concern is attachments. I do not want the emails to convert without the attached files. Each email should keep its original attachment with the message. Sender details, receiver details, CC, BCC, subject line, date, time, message body, formatting, and attachments should stay properly connected after conversion. Some emails also have long message threads, so I want the email content to remain readable and not broken.
I am also worried about folder handling. The MSG files are stored in different folders according to clients, projects, and dates. If I convert them in bulk, I do not want everything mixed up in one place. It would be better if the output EML files remain easy to identify and manage after conversion.
Opening each MSG file in Outlook and saving it manually as another format is slow and not suitable for a large mailbox backup. Also, not every system has Outlook installed, so I am looking for a cleaner way to convert bulk MSG files to EML with attachments without depending too much on manual work.
What is the best method to convert multiple MSG files into EML format while keeping attachments and email details safe? Is there any safe process or tool that can handle bulk MSG to EML conversion without changing the original files?
