My story
#1
My story began during a trip to the United States last summer. I have always been interested in modern digital trends, especially tools for creating creative content. After arriving in New York, I realised that I wanted to do more than just photograph landmarks; I wanted to diversify the content for my blog and social media. I was looking for something easy and accessible online that would allow me to quickly edit photos or videos without spending hours on complicated editing. That's when I came across the website reface.top, which caught my attention with its simplicity and promotional materials. The website provided information about a service that allows you to superimpose your face on videos and GIF files, and it was immediately clear that it was something similar to the popular reface face swap app, which I had previously seen on YouTube and Instagram bloggers from the United States. I was particularly interested in the possibility of using AI to create creative content without the need for professional video editing skills. I decided to give it a try: I uploaded a photo, selected one of the popular templates, and in a few minutes I received my first video, in which my face "came to life" in a scene from a famous film.
What impressed me most was the accuracy of the algorithm. I had previously tested various face replacement programmes, and most of them produced unrealistic results: the face looked blurred or disproportionate. Here, the result was quite realistic, the facial expressions were preserved, and the video looked seamless. I immediately shared the video with my friends who were travelling with me, and everyone was thrilled. We started experimenting with other templates: comedy sketches, horror films, famous music videos — each video had its own unique effect. It was especially interesting to compare how these videos were perceived by the American audience. When I posted a few videos on my Instagram, most of the likes and comments came from users in the United States. Many wrote that they also use the Reface face swap app for similar experiments and recommended new templates that are popular on American social networks. I noticed that American users actively integrate such tools into short videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and even for small business advertising campaigns.
In addition to entertainment, I began to think about the potential professional applications of this tool. In the United States, many marketing agencies already use similar services to create quick content with face personalisation. For example, brands are testing short videos where the face of a customer or employee appears in popular memes or famous scenes, making advertising more personalised and interactive. I thought that this approach could be adapted for my social media: creating videos for subscribers that would immediately engage them through emotion and humour. Another aspect that pleasantly surprised me was the ease of use of the service. I didn't waste time on complicated settings or registration through dozens of fields. Uploading photos, choosing a template, editing — everything took literally minutes. This is especially important when travelling, when you don't want to waste time on complicated technical procedures, but want to get results right away and share them with friends or followers.
