Hey all,
I’ve recently completed a draft of my novel after months of writing, editing, and late-night brainstorming sessions. It’s been a long journey, and now I’m finally at the stage where I’m seriously considering my publishing options. I’ve been researching professional book publishing services, but honestly, it’s a bit overwhelming with all the choices out there.
Some companies offer full-service publishing where they handle everything — editing, design, ISBN, distribution, marketing — while others offer more à la carte services, letting authors retain more control. I’m torn between the two approaches. On one hand, I’d love the support and structure of a full-service company, especially since this is my first book. On the other hand, I’m a bit of a control freak when it comes to creative projects, and I’m also budget-conscious, so I’m wondering if managing some parts of the process myself might be the smarter option.
If anyone here has gone through this before, I’d really appreciate any insights. Did you go with a professional publishing service? What made you choose one company or approach over another? Were there any red flags to look out for or services that were unexpectedly helpful? I’m hoping to make a well-informed decision, but hearing from people who’ve already been down this path would be incredibly helpful. Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts!
