How to Solve Cannot Sending Emails From Outlook
#1
Having trouble sending emails from Outlook? Here’s how you can fix it. Sometimes, Outlook users face a frustrating issue where they cannot send emails, even though the settings seem fine. This often points to problems in configuration or a corrupt PST file. Below are two approaches to fix the problem:
  • Manual Solutions
  1. Check Internet Connection:
Make sure you're connected to a stable network.
  2. Verify SMTP Settings:
Go to Account Settings > Server Settings and verify outgoing mail server (SMTP) settings.
  3. Enable SMTP Authentication:
Navigate to More Settings > Outgoing Server tab and check “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  4. Review Antivirus & Firewall Settings:
Sometimes, your antivirus/firewall blocks sending emails. Temporarily disable them to test.
  5. Repair Outlook Profile:
Go to Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles and repair or recreate your profile.
  6. Use ScanPST Tool:
Microsoft’s built-in Inbox Repair Tool can fix minor PST issues. But it doesn’t work well for large or severely damaged PST files.

Limitations of Manual Methods:
  • Time-consuming and requires technical knowledge
  • May not detect or fix deeply corrupt PST files
  • ScanPST fails if the corruption level is high
  • No guarantee of email recovery or restoration
  • Professional Method: Use MCT PST Email Recovery Tool

If manual fixes don’t work, the best alternative is to use the MailConverterTools PST Email Recovery Tool. This tool helps recover data from corrupted PST files and fixes issues like “Cannot send emails from Outlook” efficiently.
Key Benefits:
  • Recovers emails, contacts, calendars, tasks, and journals
  • Supports both ANSI & UNICODE PST files
  • Maintains folder hierarchy and data integrity
  • Allows saving recovered data in PST, MSG, MBOX, etc.
  • Works with Outlook 2019, 2016, 2013, and below

When you cannot send the Outlook email, first find out your internet connection and email account. Ensure that your Outbox is not holding on to large messages and unsent messages. Second, check that the SMTP server configuration (outgoing mail server) is correct, which can be found under the accounts setup in Outlook.

In certain cases, such an outgoing message can be blocked by the antivirus or the firewall software, and in that case, you should temporarily turn it off and check. And finally, empty your Outbox, restart Outlook and attempt once again. Provided that the problem still exists, one can also fix corrupted settings by creating a new profile in Outlook.

In the case of perennial problems, a PST recovery tool could be used to scan and repair the corruption of the PST file, which will help to alleviate sending errors, too. Kind and reputable programs such as the BLR Tools provide a fast solution to inspect and recover email data, protecting it.

If Outlook isn’t sending emails, start by checking your SMTP settings and clearing any stuck messages in the Outbox. Also, try reducing attachment size and running Outlook in Safe Mode to rule out faulty add-ins. If the issue persists, create a new profile or temporarily disable antivirus/firewall.
If none of this helps, your PST file might be corrupt. Run SCANPST.exe first. If that fails, try Stellar Repair for Outlook—it’s excellent for fixing severely damaged or oversized PSTs
