How can I convert a PST file to MSG format in bulk?
#1
I recently had a similar requirement where I needed to convert PST to MSG for a mailbox archive containing several years of emails. Initially, I tried using Outlook to save messages as MSG files, but that approach was only practical for a handful of emails. When you have hundreds or thousands of messages, manually saving each one becomes almost impossible. However, after trying this approach, I quickly realized that it was not practical for a large mailbox.

While Outlook allows you to save individual emails as MSG files, you have to open or select each message and save it separately. This might work if you only need to export a few emails, but when you are dealing with hundreds or thousands of messages, the process becomes extremely time-consuming and tedious. Additionally, there is always a risk of accidentally skipping emails or saving them in the wrong location.

After researching different solutions, I found Advik PST Converter and decided to give it a try. The software made the entire process much easier. Instead of handling emails one by one, I simply loaded my PST file into the application, selected MSG as the output format, and started the conversion. The software automatically extracted all emails from the PST file and saved them as individual MSG files.

One thing I liked about the tool was that it preserved all important email properties during the conversion. The converted MSG files retained the original sender information, recipient details, subject lines, timestamps, attachments, and formatting. This was important because I needed the emails to remain exactly as they appeared in Outlook. The software also maintained the original folder hierarchy, which made it easy to navigate through the exported data after the conversion was complete.

Another advantage was its ability to handle large PST files. My archive was several gigabytes in size, and the tool processed it without any issues. I didn't experience crashes, missing emails, or data corruption. It also supports both ANSI and Unicode PST files, which can be helpful if you're working with PST files created from different Outlook versions.

If your goal is to convert PST to MSG in bulk, I would definitely recommend using an automated solution rather than relying on the manual Outlook method. It saves a significant amount of time, reduces the chances of human error, and ensures that all email components are preserved properly. For users who regularly archive emails, perform eDiscovery tasks, or need individual MSG files for legal and compliance purposes, a dedicated PST to MSG converter can make the process much more efficient.

Overall, the software worked well for my requirements, and I was able to convert my entire PST mailbox into MSG format without losing any data. If you're dealing with a large PST file and need a reliable way to extract emails as MSG files, it's worth considering.
