How I Grew My Client’s Food Business from Local Favorite to Scalable Brand
#1
When I, Mateo Henry, first consulted for a small food business specializing in ROADFOOD, they were struggling to scale. Despite having a loyal local customer base, their online presence was almost nonexistent, and monthly revenue had plateaued.

The client had excellent products but lacked marketing strategy, brand identity, and digital visibility. Their packaging was generic, social media inactive, and they had no structured plan for growth or customer retention.

The first step was to give the brand a story—emphasizing freshness, organic sourcing, and community health. I revamped their branding with a cleaner look, redesigned their website for mobile-first browsing, and optimized it for SEO, targeting key phrases like “healthy snacks near me” and “organic snack delivery.”
We then launched an Instagram and TikTok strategy focused on storytelling, behind-the-scenes content, and user-generated feedback. I also encouraged the client to offer seasonal bundles using eco-friendly packaging, which made their product Instagram-worthy and sharable.

We introduced weekly promotions, email marketing automation, and partnered with local fitness centers and cafés for co-branded campaigns. Customer loyalty programs and referral discounts were also added to boost retention.

Within 6 months, website traffic increased by 220%, social media followers grew from 800 to over 6,000, and monthly revenue doubled. Wholesale inquiries came in from three states, and the brand started fulfilling bulk orders for local events and corporate wellness programs.

With the right brand story, digital strategy, and consistent customer engagement, I helped turn a stagnant local business into a scalable, growing food brand. As a business consultant, seeing this transformation reinforced why I’m passionate about helping small businesses unlock their full potential.
