Fortnite Festival Players Worry Epic Games Is Losing Interest
#1
Fortnite Festival has been a refreshing and rhythm-filled addition to the Fortnite universe, but recent updates—or the lack thereof—have fans wondering if the mode is being quietly phased out. For two weeks in a row, only one new jam track has been added to the game, deviating from the usual three or more.

This week’s single new track is Old Town Road (Remix) by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, a wildly popular song in its own right. However, it follows last week’s low-key addition of “Slay!” by Eternxlkz—an EDM track that didn’t generate much buzz. While the quality of songs hasn’t dipped, the reduced quantity has raised eyebrows among the community.

Fans took to Reddit to express their concerns, with many speculating that this could be the beginning of the end for Festival. With the top posts focused on the same issue, it’s clear that a large portion of the fanbase feels left in the dark.

This isn’t the only change that’s upset players. Earlier this year, Epic quietly transitioned the Festival shop from a “buy anytime” model to a rotating shop system. Jam tracks now come and go just like skins in the regular item shop, making it more difficult for players to build their dream playlist. For many, this move has taken away a core part of what made Festival appealing in the first place.

Still, Epic hasn’t completely abandoned the mode. The current Music Pass, headlined by Bruno Mars and featuring classics like ABC by The Jackson 5, shows there’s still development happening. Plus, with many Epic Games employees out for summer break, there’s hope that Festival updates will pick up again later in July.

Closing Thoughts
Whether this slowdown is temporary or the start of a longer decline remains to be seen. Fans of Fortnite Festival are right to be cautious, but not all hope is lost. Epic’s track record shows that even sidelined modes can make big comebacks.
