Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone here has had to deal with a debt collection agency called Core Recoveries? Lately, they’ve been calling me nonstop — seriously, sometimes three or four times a day — and it’s getting to the point where I dread answering my phone. When I finally picked up, the person on the other end was super aggressive and kept pushing me to make a payment right away, but they couldn’t clearly explain what the debt was even for. I asked for something in writing or proof of the debt, but they just kept pressuring me.
It honestly felt more like harassment than a legitimate debt collection process. I get that collectors have a job to do, but there’s a line — and I feel like Core Recoveries has crossed it.
I did some research because I wasn’t sure what my rights were in this situation. I came across this article that talks about how to stop Core Recoveries debt collection harassment and it actually explained a lot about what these companies are legally allowed to do (and what they’re not). It also mentions what steps you can take if the calls become too much — like sending a cease and desist letter or even taking legal action if necessary.
I’m just trying to figure out what others have done in this situation. Have you ever had to deal with them or a similar agency? Did they ever provide documentation? Did they eventually stop calling after you pushed back? I don’t want to ignore it completely, but I also don’t want to be bullied into paying something I might not even owe.
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through this. What worked for you? How did you get them to stop? This whole thing has been a huge source of anxiety and I’m just trying to take the right steps.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their experience.
