Chelsea keeping tabs on Victor Boniface
#1
Chelsea are keeping a close watch on Victor Boniface’s performances as they have the Nigerian on their striker shortlist.
According to TBR, Chelsea have kept close tabs on Victor Boniface as he continues his impressive displays for Bayer Leverkusen. The Blues are still in the market for a prolific No.9 and could ponder an approach for the 23-year-old Bundesliga attacker ahead of future windows, including January.

Chelsea’s expansive spending on new players under their new owners in the last two years have led to a lot of questions. While most of the doubts are about the quality they were able to bring in for massive prices, they have continued to baffle most with their inability to sign a new striker.

have wanted a prolific No.9 for sometime and had looked at multiple options without bringing any. Victor Osimhen was their big summer target, but the striker could not agree on the terms presented by the Premier League giants and instead left for Galatasaray on loan.

Osimhen remains a target ahead of January, although they would have to propose a massive offer this time around to convince the Nigerian to move. Other names like Jhon Duran and Jonathan David have been mentioned, but they also missed out on Ivan Toney, who joined the Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

Viktor Gyokeres is another name on their list, but there are significant complications in signing the Swedish forward from Sporting CP. Now, Chelsea has added Victor Boniface to their watchlist, as the Nigerian has started the new season well. The Blues currently have Nicolas Jackson as their central striker, and the frontman has also had an excellent start to the season, scoring a brace at the weekend to take his tally to four from five games.

Victor Boniface on Chelsea’s radar
Chelsea were reportedly watching Boniface over the last few weeks, and would have seen him scoring the winner for Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend off the bench. The striker is an integral part of Xabi Alonso’s plans, meaning the Blues will face a big task to convince them to part ways with the 23-year-old Bundesliga attacker, especially in January.

Next summer could be a different story, as Leverkusen could sell him for a reasonable price, provided he continues on his impressive form. Boniface could be a big arrival for Chelsea in the context of adding competition in the centre-forward role and keeping Jackson on his toes, although any move will depend on his price tag.
